Juneteenth... The Rise of the African Spirit!

In Africa, dance is a means of marking the experiences of life, encouraging abundant crops, and healing the sick soul and body. While sewing more masks yesterday I danced the whole way through. I typically always dance when creating and now I see why. This is such a beautiful moment for the African spirit.

A rise within our culture to reclaim what is ours. I’m dancing and already celebrating everyone’s victory of decolonizing the mind, rediscovering your lineage and history, practicing new ways of strength and courage and uniting with your fellow brothers and sisters to really create change here on earth. We are no where close to where we want to be, but the African spirit has risen and we are relentless to get to where we are going. We dance in the victory of that! Always...
